Eid Ul Adha

Eid-ul-Adha is the Muslim festival that marks the end of the pilgrimage to Makkah known as Hajj. Eid-ul-Adha is also known as the “Feast of Sacrifice,”and it commemorates Abraham’s faith and devotion to God.
According to Muslim belief God asked Abraham to sacrifice his son, and although he was a good man and loved his son; his faith and devotion to God was strong enough that he would accommodate God’s request. Abraham’s willingness to sacrifice his own son for God caused God to spare his son’s life, and a lamb was sacrificed in his place.
Eid-ul-Adha is a sacred Muslim holiday that is celebrated as a 3 day festival around the world with prayer, sacrifice, and food.
In the United States many Muslims celebrate Eid-ul-Adha by going to morning prayers at a mosque instead of eating breakfast. After the morning prayers they have a feast with their family and friends, and they enjoy being together and sharing. But for us the Chehab family, after the prayer we will be going to a farm in Dade city to sacrifice our lamb. We will not be the only ones but they are about 24 to 30 members of the Sunnah community will join us for the sacrifice  We will spend the whole day in the out door, Kids get to play together and path the other animals as cows, horses, rabbit..and more. While the men sacrifice and get to follow the Sunnah of Muhhamed peace be upon him, the women get to relax and bread the fresh air. Later on we will have a feast, we will have liver kebab and other good stuff. My husband is planning to cook the guts following his mother recipe.
I am looking forward to this without forgetting that we should do Takbir and give a third of the meat to the needy people in our community, the second third as a gift to one of our friend and keep the last third to us and this all following to Sunnah.
I will be posting some Eid pictures soon.
